The Rra Dinare Story

Rra Dinare is authentic, unpretentious, and full of heart — the kind of camp that sticks with you long after you’ve left the Delta dust behind.

Located just south of the Moremi Game Reserve, and containing critical dry-season watering points. This concession was once leased for controlled trophy hunting. In the early 2000s, the Botswana government embraced low-impact, high-value photographic safaris. The goal? To create long-term benefits for wildlife and people, replacing hunting income with more sustainable photographic safari operations.

Today, Rra Dinare stands as a model of community-conscious tourism. The camp is situated on the opposite side of the concession from Mma Dinare, offering a slightly different landscape for game viewing, with nearby woodlands that leopards love and seasonal water sources for migrating animals. You’ll game drive amid the large buffalo herds with the thrill of knowing that big cats are silently stalking them.

All activities are hosted by Kwando’s renowned guide and tracker teams. Departure times and duration tailored to season, sightings and guest interests.

What our guests say about Rra Dinare Camp

What an incredible impact the visit had for us, in such a short time.

The level of service and humility of the people who work at the camp is astonishing, in all my years of travelling I don’t think I have ever felt so honestly cared for, not even in the best five-star hotels does that feeling of humanity come across.

We LOVED both Kwando camps.

We learned that all of their camps are owned by locals and are not foreign-owned. Is that true? If so, I suggest you market this as a positive differentiator from other camps. "Support the local economy with Kwando!"

Fantastic experience.

We loved this camp. Another outstanding member of the Kwando group. We travelled in February, taking advantage of the 5 Rivers offer.

The lodge is raised up with posh tents for sleeping in. The pool was very welcome with it being so hot at this time of year.

The best safari experience we have had.

The Rra Dinare is absolutely wonderful. From the warm greeting to the heartfelt goodbyes, we felt welcomed and appreciated… The wildlife locally is incredible, we saw a combination of lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, wild dogs, crocodiles, hippo, hyena, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, all many of antelope and birdlife on every activity we did.
