The 4 Rivers Story
In days gone by, adventurers whispered of the fabled Tsum Tsum floodplains, which were only accessible by tackling four deep water crossings.
Only a few old-hand hunters and their trackers knew the location of these water crossings, and the best alternative was approaching the area from the west or north: both arduous, multi-day journeys!
We only received permission for an airstrip in the 4 Rivers area in 2023 making this the last truly unexplored region of the Okavango Delta to be opened in years. We chose this remote site for its amazing habitat variety and biodiversity with the camp located onthe banks of the Tsum Tsum River, the source of the four crossings from which the camp takes its name..
To the west, the vast floodplains allow for excellent off-roading and tracking of predators. To the east, the Tsum Tsum River forms a mini-delta – a combination of wetland marsh and wooded islands that are best explored by mokoro and on foot. The largest of these islands, Maboa Island, is directly in front of the camp, and its forests can be discovered on safari walks which are a speciality at 4 Rivers.
